Hack the Library
How we can use our library to make Worthing an even better place to live?

There are many people in the borough who have missed out on going to university and who are now retired or working. Why not offer them free university level introductory lectures and/or complete courses at the library.? You have a wonderful lecture theatre. Furthermore, because of the introduction of university fees many young people have been put off from going into higher education. They might also be interested in this. Surely, we will all agree that education should be free. Why not start a "Free University" in Worthing? Where would we get the lecturers? I am happy to offer my services for free. I am a visiting lecturer in Political Philosophy at Heythrop College/University of London. And one of my friends in Worthing would be happy to lecture on Environmental Politics. Another friend from Goldsmiths College/London would like to run a class in Creative Writing. Once you make a start with the Free University I'm sure that many other people with an academic background will want to join in: lecturers, retired academics or PhD students.
